I am directed by the lecretary of State for War to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 13th Sustant 28464 Secret, and to inform you that

the India dffice has been asked to Expedite the arrival at Houghone of the two native Indian Regiments inhuded for the garrison there.- but Jam at the came hive to state. that in the opinion of Lord Lansdowne and his Military advisers the needs of Tientom and the North are mière pressing than those of thongkong.
